Goal/Objective

The primary objective of the Samoon Mobile Wellness Clinic (SMWC) project is to deliver essential healthcare services to rural and remote populations in Uttarakhand, ensuring timely medical care and health education.

Background/Need Assessment

Executive summary (Concept Note)

Thousands of people in rural Uttarakhand lose their lives every year due to inadequate access to proper medical facilities. The Samoon Mobile Wellness Clinic (SMWC) project, implemented by Samoon Foundation, aims to address this urgent need by providing mobile healthcare services to these remote areas. This proposal outlines the plan for a mobile clinic project over a year, starting from July 2025, to improve healthcare access and outcomes in these underserved communities.

Current Socio-economic status of the Area and Target group

Uttarakhand's remote regions are characterized by difficult terrain and limited access to healthcare facilities. Many villages are isolated, with residents having to travel long distances to the nearest health centre. The harsh climatic conditions and lack of infrastructure further exacerbate the health challenges faced by the population. There is an urgent need for mobile healthcare units to bridge this gap and provide primary healthcare services to these underserved areas.

Proposed Activities

Proposed Key Activities

  • Procurement of Mobile Clinic Van: Purchase and equip a Tempo Traveler van to serve as the mobile clinic.
  • Healthcare Services Delivery: Provide regular medical check-ups, treatments, and health education through a team of qualified healthcare professionals.
  • Community Outreach: Engage with local communities to promote health awareness and preventive healthcare practices.
