Dauna Devi was met with an accident when she was coming back to her home after tending to her goats when she fell inside a pit. Dauna Devi was unable to see the pit due to the cataract in her eye and had caused impairment in her vision. Dauna Devi suffered multiple fractures in her legs and arms and a deep injury on her head. Samoon team member, Mrs. Indu Bhandari got Dauna Devi admitted to the Government Hospital of Rishikesh immediately with the help of government emergency medical services

The doctor asked for a CT scan of her injuries but the nearest scanning facility was located outside the city, for which Dauna Devi had no money. Small assistance of INR 6,000/ - was provided from the Samoon family for her CT scan and medical supplies.


After getting her treatment and surgeries done, Dauna Devi has recovered from her injuries and has been discharged from the hospital facility.
