Transforming Government Primary School, Saur into a Digital Learning Centre
Believing that every child has the right to quality education, Samoon Foundation adopted Government Primary School, Saur, and took steps to improve its learning environment. After receiving information from the school's dedicated teacher, Smt. Indu Bhandari, about the lack of technological and educational resources, the Foundation decided to intervene.
On 6 August 2018, Samoon Foundation provided a computer, projector, cricket kit, English grammar books, microphone, speakers, and various educational learning kits, including magnetic alphabet and number kits, vegetable-fruit copying kits, and art materials. These efforts helped transform the school into one of the first digital primary schools in the region.
Most of the students came from remote villages in the hills of Uttarakhand, and for many of them, using a computer was a completely new experience. Through this initiative, Samoon Foundation aimed to provide children with better learning opportunities and encourage them to excel in their studies. The Foundation also committed to extending further support in the future based on the students' progress and performance.
