Shivani Devi, her husband, and their young son had a small but happy life together. For the past 20 years, her husband had been working in the hotel line in Mumbai, earning a modest income to support the family. As both his parents had already passed away and there was no one to look after things back in the village, he brought his family along to Mumbai. Life was full of struggles, but it was stable and moving forward.
However, fate took a tragic turn. Her husband was diagnosed with a life-threatening illness—cancer. After battling between life and death for six months in Mumbai hospitals, he passed away two weeks ago. With his demise, Shivani Devi lost not only her life partner but also her shelter and support. The city that once gave hope suddenly became unfamiliar and frightening without him.
Helpless, she returned to her native village—Dharkudi Bangad, Tehsil Jakholi, in Rudraprayag. But the situation there turned out to be even more difficult. Due to years of absence and having no one back home, she no longer has a house to live in or any property to rely on. Currently, a kind-hearted family in the village has offered her a single room, where she is staying with her son. The room is empty—she lacks sufficient clothes, food, utensils, and even basic necessities for daily living.
After learning about Samoon Foundation, Shivani Devi has reached out to the Samoon family and all kind-hearted individuals for support. In this difficult time, the Samoon family stands firmly with Shivani Devi and her son and is making every possible effort to help them.
If you wish to support this family by contributing towards essential needs such as food supplies, daily-use utensils, clothing, bedding, and the child’s education, you may send your contribution to the following Samoon Foundation account. All donations received will be directly provided to the affected family, and updates will be shared with you.
