Construction A School For Underprivileged Children

Education is the most fundamental right of any individual. However countless millions are deprived of this basic right simply because they do not have access to sufficient resources. What we propose is an endeavor to open a school in a village which lacks the facilities of electricity and connectivity let alone the internet. Education is something that can enlighten lives and may help many people to the journey of development and progress. By opening this school, we strive to provide opportunities to many such individuals who can make their generation proud. By being first-generation learners, they will be able to work for the upliftment of their village. Educating one person can change countless lives.

You may hardly believe it, but even today there are many villages in Uttarakhand where there are no roads, no electricity, no network, no education, and no healthcare facilities. One such village is Osla, the last village of Uttarkashi. When the villagers informed us about their situation a year and a half ago, we couldn’t believe it. But when we sent our team and couldn’t contact them for 4–5 days, we realized such a place truly exists.

Based on the information received from the team, we decided to open a school in Osla village. Although we had no funds at that time, as they say, “Where there is a will, there is a way.” With the support of all Samoon family members and donors, we laid the foundation of Samoon Adarsh Vidyalaya on April 1, 2021. As soon as the school opened, 200 children enrolled, and for the past year, we have been providing free, high-quality education to the children of Osla and Pawani under the banner of Samoon Adarsh Vidyalaya.

To run Samoon Adarsh Vidyalaya, Samoon Computer Training Center, and other offices, we spend more than ₹1 lakh every month, which is received solely through the support of all you donors.

Currently, we are running Samoon Adarsh Vidyalaya in a rented building, but due to the lack of space for extra activities and classrooms, we are forced to teach children under the open sky. However, due to snow and extreme cold in this region, teaching children outside can harm their health. Therefore, we have decided to construct our own school building for Samoon Adarsh Vidyalaya between Osla and Pawani villages. For the construction of this sacred temple of Saraswati, we will initially need at least ₹15–20 lakhs. Although collecting such a large amount is difficult, it is not impossible. Very soon, we are going to start the construction work of Samoon Adarsh Vidyalaya in this remote area.

Hence, we request all Samoon family members, followers, and humanity-loving individuals to contribute a small donation for the construction of this sacred temple of Saraswati so that the future of hundreds of illiterate children can be brightened. A government school was built there in 2014, but it remains deserted. We have made many requests to the government for this vacant school, but the government prefers to keep it deserted rather than give it to someone else. Anyway.

We not only hope but firmly believe that just as you have continuously supported every social cause for the past 11 years, you will also support the construction of this grand temple of Mother Saraswati. You can donate even ₹10 according to your capacity. Among the five types of donations, Vidya Daan (donation of education) is considered the greatest because it is the only donation that grows by sharing.

Let us come together to provide better education to these children so that they can become educated and give a new direction to their families, society, and the country. Today’s children are the future of our nation, so we must pay special attention to their education and ensure that no child is deprived of it.

The construction work of our school, Samoon Adarsh Vidyalaya Osla, is steadily progressing. Very soon, the roof installation work is about to begin.

The construction work of the new building of Samoon Adarsh Vidyalaya Osla, a free school operated by Samoon Foundation, is in its final stage. Today, roofing sheets were purchased from Vikasnagar, Dehradun, and are being transported to Osla village. The new building will be completed very soon.

Samoon Foundation is proud to present the ongoing development of Samoon Adarsh Vidyalaya—a symbol of free and quality education. Currently functioning from a rented space, the school is now transitioning into a purpose-built campus that reflects our commitment to accessible learning. This construction marks a significant step toward creating a nurturing environment that supports holistic development and removes financial barriers. Together, we are building not just a school, but a foundation for empowerment, knowledge, and a brighter future.

Samoon Adarsh Vidyalaya extends heartfelt New Year wishes to all. The school building construction is nearly complete, with final finishing targeted by March. This milestone reflects the collective efforts of the Samoon family—supporters, parents, teachers, students, and staff. With gratitude and unity, we look forward to achieving new goals and building a prosperous, education-driven society in the coming year.

Samoon Adarsh Vidyalaya, Osla, looks stunning draped in a white blanket of snow. These beautiful images capture the charm of the newly constructed school building amidst the serene winter landscape.

Constructing a school building in Osla, the last village of Uttarkashi district, is an immense challenge due to its remote and rugged terrain. With roads accessible for only about six months a year—owing to heavy rainfall and snowfall—the transportation of construction materials is extremely limited. As soon as the routes reopened, 100 bags of cement were transported to resume and complete the remaining construction work of Samoon Adarsh Vidyalaya.

The construction of the new Samoon Adarsh Vidyalaya building in Osla began in October 2022. While the furniture installation is now complete, cementing work remains pending due to heavy rainfall and will be finished soon. This project stands as a testament to the dedication and generosity of Samoon Foundation members, who have built the school without any government aid—donating a portion of their monthly earnings to secure a brighter future for the children of Osla. For the past two years, the school has operated from a rented building and is officially recognized by the Government of Uttarakhand. We extend heartfelt thanks to everyone who has contributed to this noble cause—your support is shaping the future of our children and the entire village.

Under the banner of Samoon Foundation, Samoon Adarsh Vidyalaya takes another step toward quality education and improved infrastructure. Kajaria tiles have been delivered to the school for installation in all classrooms. Once this is completed, cementing and painting of the walls will begin to create a clean, beautiful, and inspiring environment for students. The goal is to develop the school into a model institution in this remote rural area—offering not only excellent education but also a modern and comfortable learning space.

Surrounded by mountains and cut off from modern facilities, Osla village lacked access to education—until Samoon Foundation turned a dream into reality. A free school was established to ensure every child could learn without burden or discrimination. From uniforms to stationery, everything is provided at no cost. Starting in a small rented space, the school has now grown into a nearly completed building, with plastering done and tile work about to begin. This journey, led by founder Vinod Jethuri and generous donors, proves that with strong will and big hearts, even the most remote dreams can come true. Today, the school not only teaches children to read but also to dream—and achieve.

Samoon Adarsh Vidyalaya, established in June 2022, is now fully constructed after three years of dedicated effort. Equipped with modern tiles and paint, the school offers a clean and inspiring environment. Built through community support and donor contributions, it aims to become a green, eco-friendly, and digital model school in a remote mountain region. More than just a school, it represents a movement for free, quality education, equality, and hope.
