From Dharali in Uttarkashi to Tharali in
Chamoli, and now again from Nandnagar, moving across Pauri, Tehri, Pithoragarh,
Rudraprayag, and Dehradun, continuous heavy rains and landslides have created
scenes of complete devastation, leaving life totally disrupted.
With roads blocked in several places,
relief, rescue, and rehabilitation efforts for the affected families are facing
severe challenges. Samoon Foundation too is continuously receiving a large
number of requests for assistance from disaster-affected and needy families.
Just
imagine how a poor family works tirelessly day and night to build a home of
their own, but one spell of torrential rain sweeps away their dream house.
Today, many such families are forced to live under the open sky or have taken
refuge in nearby places, having lost everything to this disaster.
In such a time, when these families have
lost all they had, if we can stand with them in their grief and extend even a
little support, it will not only be a help but also our duty as a service to
humanity to be there for our people.
