Save Hemlata's Vision: An Urgent Medical Appeal

27-year-old Hemlata, a resident of Dhumakot, Pauri Garhwal, Uttarakhand, was married in 2019, and some time later, immense joy entered her life in the form of a 2-year-old son. But this family, already living under the shadow of poverty, was suddenly struck by a mountain of misfortune. Hemlata was afflicted with a severe illness causing intense headaches, fever, and blurred vision. Her extremely poor husband spent his entire savings on her treatment. When all the money ran out, he was forced to stop her treatment.

As the illness progressed, it worsened to the point where Hemlata completely lost her eyesight. In this dire situation, her husband left the now fully blind Hemlata at her elderly parents' home and took their 2-year-old child away with him. Today, this helpless mother lives without sight, dependent on her aging parents, and spends her days and nights yearning for her child.

According to medical reports, Hemlata is suffering from a serious condition called CVST (Cerebral Venous Sinus Thrombosis), due to which the pressure inside her brain and skull has risen to a dangerous level, resulting in Grade III papilledema. Because of this excessive pressure, the optic nerves in her eyes have been compressed, causing her to lose her vision. If she receives the right treatment in time, Hemlata's eyesight can still be saved.
