Sewing Training For Woman Empowerment

On 14 August 2022, the Samoon Foundation inaugurated the Samoon Sewing and Knitting Training Centre at Village Godadhar Akhodi, District Tehri Garhwal, Uttarakhand, with the objective of empowering rural women through skill development and self-employment opportunities.

The inauguration ceremony was graced by Shri Ramesh Indra Dutt Naithani, senior member of the Samoon Foundation, who formally inaugurated the training centre by cutting the ribbon. The event was also attended by Block Pramukh Smt. Basumati Ghanata, distinguished guests, community leaders, and local residents.

The programme commenced with the worship of the sewing machines and a traditional Havan, seeking blessings for the success of the initiative. The guests were welcomed with floral garlands, followed by an interactive session on career guidance, skill development, and self-employment opportunities for youth and women.

The training centre was established to provide free vocational training to economically weaker, underprivileged, and deserving women and girls, enabling them to develop tailoring and stitching skills and become financially independent. Shortly after its inauguration, more than 50 women registered for the training programme, reflecting the strong response and enthusiasm from the local community.

Through this initiative, Samoon Foundation took another meaningful step towards women's empowerment by creating sustainable livelihood opportunities and encouraging skill-based self-reliance in rural areas.

Women Successfully Completed Advanced Training at Samoon Skill Sewing Centre, Godadhar

On 14 August 2022, the Samoon Foundation formally inaugurated the Samoon Skill Sewing and Tailoring Training Centre at Odadhar, Akhori, Tehri Garhwal, with the vision of empowering rural women through skill development and self-employment opportunities.
The training centre was established with the generous support of Shri Ramesh Indradutt Naithani Ji and was inaugurated in the esteemed presence of the Block Pramukh of Bhilangana, local dignitaries, and respected members of the community.

Over the following months, the women enrolled in the programme actively participated in regular training sessions and successfully developed practical tailoring skills. By the end of the training period, they had learned cutting, stitching, and designing techniques, enabling them to prepare high-quality suits, blouses, and other garments with confidence.

The initiative not only enhanced their technical skills but also strengthened their confidence and created new opportunities for self-employment and financial independence. Samoon Foundation remains committed to promoting women’s empowerment by providing vocational training that helps transform lives and build sustainable livelihoods.
