Trees are just as important to our lives as food and water; imagining human life without trees is futile. Trees play a highly significant role in granting us a healthy and prosperous life. We must plant trees in the maximum possible numbers on both our private and government lands to maintain nature's balance and prevent natural disasters. Forests prevent landslides and provide us with pure oxygen. They also provide economic support for the progress of our country and state. Humans are the finest creation of nature, which is why afforestation is a fundamental responsibility of human society.
Since ancient times, there has been a close relationship between humans and nature. The solutions to our basic needs—food, clothing, and shelter—have all come from these forests.
From swinging in a wooden cradle during childhood and leaning on a wooden staff for support in old age, to resting on firewood upon the end of life's journey, wood accompanies a human until their final moments. These trees provide us with pure oxygen. Looking at the lush greenery of dense forests fills the mind with joy.
Trees bear the harsh sunlight themselves to provide us with shade. As long as they are green and alive, they give us fruits and vegetables, and when they dry up, they provide wood for fuel. It is by eating the green leaves and fruits of these trees that animals like cows, buffaloes, and goats produce milk, which provides us with vital protein.
In other words, it can be said: "No trees, no life." We must continuously maintain the bond we have shared with trees since ancient times. This is why this program has been named “Pedon Se Hai Rishta Hamara” (Our Relationship is with Trees).
It is the duty of every citizen to plant at least one tree in their lifetime. Today, out of selfishness, we cut down trees but forget to plant them, which is why the problem of global warming is becoming so severe. Let us plant a sapling in our lives and take care of it until it grows into a tree; only then can we truly honor our relationship with nature.
Embracing tree plantation as their responsibility and honoring their bond with nature, the members of the Samoon Family set a target to plant 1,100 saplings under the “Pedon Se Hai Rishta Hamara” program, and they fulfill it at all costs. With the support of the village residents and the "Samoon" family, we have once again set a target to plant 1,100 saplings this month (July). Along with this, awareness programs will also be conducted to educate villagers on the importance of trees and how to protect them.
We appeal to all of you for your support. If you cannot physically assist us in this program, you can still have a sapling planted in your name or in the name of a family member by donating a sum of ₹250 per tree. Under the “Pedon Se Hai Rishta Hamara” initiative, that tree will be planted in your name, and its photograph will be shared with you so that a lifelong connection can be established between you and that tree.
