Mahendra Singh is a 19-year-old resident of Nepali Farm, Shyampur in the Rishikesh area of Uttarakhand. He comes from a simple family background.
Some time ago, his health started deteriorating and he began facing continuous medical problems. After medical tests, doctors informed the family that both of Mahendra’s kidneys had failed. Since then, he has been receiving treatment at AIIMS Rishikesh under medical supervision.
At present, to manage his condition, Mahendra has to go to the hospital about four days every week for dialysis. The cost of dialysis, medicines, and regular medical tests has been increasing continuously. Travel to the hospital and daily medical needs have also become difficult for the family to manage.
According to the doctors, a kidney transplant is required for Mahendra’s further treatment. His father, Puran Singh, has agreed to donate his kidney to help save his son’s life.
However, the family is in a very difficult financial situation. Mahendra’s father works as a daily wage labourer and is the main earner of the family. Most of the family’s savings have already been spent on dialysis, medicines, and medical tests.
The expenses required for the kidney transplant, hospital admission, and further treatment are beyond what the family can arrange on their own. Therefore, financial assistance is required to help Mahendra receive the treatment he needs in time.
