When Gauri was just five months old, her mother tragically lost her life after falling while cutting grass in the mountains. Her father and grandparents then lovingly raised Gauri and her two-year-old brother, Aadesh. However, three years later, the children lost their father as well, leaving them orphaned at a very young age.
Their grandparents cared for the siblings until they turned ten, but unfortunately, they too passed away. Thereafter, their uncle, Mr. Soban Singh, a daily wage labourer, took responsibility for raising both children along with his own family.
Over the years, #SamoonParivar supported the children's education, while Samoon Foundation also extended assistance by providing ration and other essential household items whenever needed. Aakash continued his studies in Class 12, and the family belonged to Village Kurn, Patti Bharpur, Tehri Garhwal.
When Gauri's marriage was fixed for 22 April, Mr. Soban Singh became concerned about meeting the wedding expenses and appealed to #SamoonParivar for support. With the generous support of well-wishers, Samoon Foundation helped the family by providing ration and other essential items required for the wedding.
According to Hindu scriptures, Anna Daan, Kanya Daan, Vidya Daan, Bhoomi Daan, and Gau Daan are considered among the highest forms of charity. We are grateful to everyone whose kindness and contributions helped bring joy and dignity to Gauri's new journey in life.
