  • Target Area: Rural Uttarakhand
  • Executive Summary / Concept Note:

Over the past five years, Samoon Foundation has been successfully running several Samoon Computer Training Institutes (SCTI). Among these, the centres located in Rishikesh (Dehradun District) and Gadhadhar, Tehri Garhwal have the highest student enrolment and demand. These centres aim to bridge the digital divide by offering free computer education to youth from underprivileged and middle-income families in rural and semi-urban areas of Uttarakhand.

Each year, around 160 students receive computer diplomas from these two centres. The courses include MS Office, Tally, DTP, Internet, Typing, and Artificial Intelligence basics. Many graduates have gone on to secure jobs, pursue higher education, or start small businesses — demonstrating the real impact of digital skills on improving livelihoods.

  • Goal of the Project:

To make each of the students proficient in using computers and become competent enough to survive in today’s digital world.
