- Proposal
- Target Area:: Samoon Adarsh Vidhyalaya, Osla – Har Ki Dun Valley, District - Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand
- Empowering Rural Himalayan Children Through Free and Quality Education:
The main goal of this project is to provide 100 underprivileged children of Osla and nearby villages with free, inclusive, and quality education. The initiative covers their annual academic expenses including uniforms, books, stationery, and activity materials. Through this support, the project seeks to create equal learning opportunities, reduce dropout rates, and strengthen the educational foundation of children living in one of India’s most remote Himalayan regions.
- Education Challenges in Remote Himalayan Villages:
Osla is one of the last inhabited villages of Uttarkashi, situated deep within the Govind National Park. The region faces extreme isolation with no proper roads, electricity, or communication for months each year. Most families depend on farming and daily wage work, leaving little scope for children’s education. Before Samoon Foundation established Samoon Adarsh Vidyalaya in 2021, many children had never attended school. This project was born out of the urgent need to provide consistent, free, and quality education to children who otherwise would have no access to learning facilities.
- Key Activities and Implementation Plan:
- Conduct daily classroom teaching and digital learning sessions.
- Provide free uniforms, books, stationery, and activity materials to all enrolled students.
- Organize regular assessments, awareness programs, and extracurricular activities.
- Ensure teacher training and periodic monitoring of learning progress.
- Share annual reports and updates with donors and partners to maintain full transparency.
- Implementation Timeline:
The project will run for one year (12 months) starting from the date of sponsorship approval.
- Month 1–2: Student enrollment review, distribution of uniforms and books, and teacher orientation.
-
- Month 3–10: Regular classroom sessions, extracurricular and awareness activities, monthly monitoring.
-
- Month 11: Academic assessments, annual exams, and report preparation.
-
- Month 12: Annual review meeting, donor reporting, and planning for the next academic cycle.
- Annual Sponsorship and Cost Plan:
The total estimated annual cost for supporting 100 students at Samoon Adarsh Vidyalaya, Osla, is ₹18,00,000.
- Per Student per Month: ₹1,500
- Per Student per Year: ₹18,000
This includes teacher salaries, uniforms, stationery, books, classroom materials, and basic operational expenses. Donors can choose to sponsor one or more students according to their capacity. All records and updates will be transparently shared.
- Long-Term Community Empowerment:
The project will directly impact 100 rural children by ensuring uninterrupted access to education. Over time, it will raise literacy levels, promote gender equality in education, and help families understand the value of learning. Educated children will become confident individuals, capable of contributing to their community’s development and reducing migration from mountain villages.
- Pathway to Transformation:
- Inputs: Donor support, trained teachers, infrastructure, and learning materials
Activities: Classroom teaching, extracurricular sessions, community awareness
Outputs: 100 students receiving quality education and learning resources

- Collaborations and Sponsorship Support:
Samoon Foundation seeks partnerships with CSR divisions, individual donors, and educational organizations willing to support this initiative. Long-term funding will help maintain teacher salaries, expand classroom resources, and introduce digital education tools. Transparent reporting and direct student progress updates will be provided to all partners and sponsors.
- Progress Tracking and Transparency:
Regular monitoring will ensure the project’s effectiveness and transparency.
- Monthly reviews of attendance and academic progress
-
- Quarterly financial audits and reports
-
- Annual evaluation of learning outcomes and student performance
-

The model aims for long-term independence by blending community ownership, technology, and responsible resource management.
